Run for the Red 5K

We decided on Monday that we wanted to sign up for this race which thereafter created two anxieties for me:

1. Only the first 100 participants to register get t-shirts. (Requirement for me)

2. ONLY the first 100 to finish the race get a medal (Holy Cow! I finished 105th in the last race, and you don't know how much I wanted this medal!)

We started the morning off by getting up early and being one of the first to pick up our packets (AND T-SHIRTS). So we beat our chest and smiled at the camera until it picked up our smiles and took a picture.

My mother and her manfriend, Paul, were nice enough to come and took some great photos!

Pre-Race: No jokes about the matching headbands.

Look how blissful we were before the race. We had no idea of the HILLS that awaited us. All in all we didn't do any worse than 2 weeks ago at our first 5K, but I totally want to go back and train a few times on this course.

SmithCale came in 45th and I finished 60th!! Medals for everyone (well, unless you were 101+)

We celebrated our victory at a local vineyard Los Pinos in Pittsburg, Texas

A cute winery dog waddled up to SmithCale. We're cat people, I'm sorry, we can't help it. He looked very friendly, but here's SmithCale trying to psychically to tell the dog to get him some more Rosie the Riveter wine, or go away. Send all hate mail to SmithCale.
