Since July's weekends were packed for us, we sadly couldn't compete in any races.
In August we didn't just want to do another 5K.
Here's a peak into how my brain works: I'm logical. So to mentally prepare for 13.1 in Oct., I wanted to compete in a step above 10K. Because it was honestly a little depressing after the 10K to realize we'd have to DOUBLE the distance and then some.
So we signed up for a 15K (aka 9.3 miles) on Saturday and have trained accordingly. Last Saturday morning we did 8 miles!
Pray we don't melt, and if we do, we have insurance (through Monni, of course).
I love this race already, because it breaks up the awards into not only age groups, but weight classes! Because really, I have no chance at winning in my age group because they can do like 6 minute miles; I don't even drive that fast!
So wish this proud Athena luck!

Have I told you how amazed I am we've made it this far. See you at the finish line sweety or sweaty I think either is appropriate.
